Kitty Oakshott set up Upstairs Downstairs Interiors in Sherborne in 2012. As an interior designer, she has over twenty years of experience having run businesses in both London and Dorset.

We will visit your home or business to discuss your ideas for a scheme and use of fabrics for curtains, blinds, upholstery or loose covers, take measurements and send you a prompt, detailed estimate. Alternatively you can come to our showroom to browse our collection of over four hundred fabric, wallpaper and trimmings books. We have a huge variety of designs, but if there’s something we don’t have we can always source it for you.

We offer all types of blinds, from Roman and roller blinds, to venetian and verticals, and even wooden shutters.

Once your order is placed, it will be sent to our workroom, where we have a team of expert seamstresses and upholsterers. Once completed, Kitty and her team will come to your home to fit blinds, poles or tracks, and hang curtains.

No job is too small or too large – we do anything from small alterations to transforming a whole house or hotel.

We also have an extensive range of home accessories and gifts, from cushions and lampshades, to candles and jewellery.
